Okonomiyaki is traditional Japanese food. It is a Japanese style pancake made of cabbage, various meat, and seafood topped with an authentic sauce, mayonnaise, and dried bonito flakes. According to wiki, Okonomiyaki is mainly associated with Kansai or Hiroshima areas of Japan, but is widely available throughout the country. Toppings and batters tend to vary according to region.
You can eat both Kansai and Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki in Tokyo. “Okonomiyaki Gottui” is the Okonomiyaki restaurant chain in Tokyo. You can eat tasty Okonomiyaki with Japanese old fashioned atmospheres.
Okonomiyaki is literally translated “Grilled what you like”. So actually you can combine any foods you wish to produce a tasty treat. Basically, it is made with high-quality ingredients such as original flour, stock, crisp cabbage, and sauce.
When we eat it, we mainly use only a small spatula. No chopsticks and fork! (please see the picture on the left)
